Behind that perspective are two real estate investors who co-founded CapRate to bring investor-grade attention and concierge-style local service to Kansas City rental owners.
Melissa Rousselo
Broker & Co-Founder
Melissa has more than 13 years of real estate experience and is also an active investor. She has a proven track record of helping owners make sound real estate decisions and maximize the performance of their assets. Recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal, Melissa is a multi-year Five-Star Professional award recipient and a 2026 40 Under 40 nominee. Her experience as both an investor and trusted real estate advisor gives her a strong understanding of what owners value most. A Kansas City native, Melissa lives in Overland Park with her husband and son.
Rory Lee
President & Co-Founder
Rory leads the company’s investor-focused approach. As an active out-of-state investor with more than 70 doors in his Kansas City portfolio, he is deeply invested in the local market. Through years of hands-on investing, he has built a trusted network of contractors, vendors, and local professionals. After experiencing firsthand the frustrations of unresponsive and underperforming property management, he co-founded CapRate to deliver the level of service he expects for his own properties. Outside of real estate, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his three daughters and two French Bulldogs.
